t

thesqueeze

thesqueeze is approximately A4 acrylic on canvas I started with abstract stripes then just saw buildings, big ones. This got me to thinking about all the green stuff going about, and as far as I can see the real answer is squeeze as many folks into as small a space as you can, by building up. It's not an answer that I like, but it's better than deforesting or depopulating the planet. For this reason alone, I find it hard to hate tower blocks, even if in the uk they tend to be built devoid of love. Living in one of these, along with another thousand people is probably the best thing that you can do for the environment. To those that care, I truly believe that freeing up the land for nature is more important than carbon. I keep wanting to go more imaginative, and being forced back by decisions like square being a really handy shape, and no, people won't get creative, they'll get cheap.
