My son has been bullying me into doing the epic of Gilgamesh. The description of Enkidu, the only man strong enough to match the mighty Gilgamesh being raised by gazelles and living of grass just amuses me so much. A 5000 year old Sumerian back to nature kick, and they're vegan! It makes modernity seem the farce that possibly it is. Don't quite know how but I loved drawing the gazelles, having made up my mind that it might be a task beyond me. Have to say I'm really happy with this one, it fits the story, and as a vegetarian, for me it shouts "Yeh, I eat grass!" Acrylic on canvas 60 by 80 cm. Finished in 2018.
