Waterchild, I'm going to get weird on you now. A young man is drawn into being a sailor largely by the fact that he appears to be of no use where he was born, a paddler in ashes. He is also a useless sailor and an unfortunate one, sucked down with his boat. Sea giants find him and decide to keep him. There he lives paddling the sea bed and feeding the anemones with his guddling. A strange mixture between eternal child, prisoner, and pet he finds a mixed home with the monsters of the deep. I accidentally really like this painting. It started with scribbles and then an unwanted hand appeared, and the rest kind-of happened. Darker than a wet lump of coal singing medieval dirges from a black hole and yet full of a weird kind of tenderness in my eyes. The camera really doesn't do it justice.
