arielultra

Arielultra 60by80 cm on wood. The name is probably not wise but it completely fits. The whole idea of this painting was that something fantastic, a mermaid would struggle in the real world, as our more fantastic dreams and ideals often do. She is Ariel, and she is ultra, but where she is, that doesn't matter, her exotic nature is demoted to odd, and her title to that of a detergent. Here this she brushes knotts out of her hair from just outside her small abode in a large estate. She's surrunded by bars, bars placed out of love to stop children plummeting, but bars none the less. Any dreams she has apear to be a long way off, and if she wandered out of the sea for some handsome sailor, he is notably absent right now. I'd like to imagine that she'll be ok though, find her place. I think there's a little in here about immigrants, who are often rewarded for their bravery and adventurous spirit by being treated, well, oddly.
