complex5 is acrylic on wood, 600 by 800cm. It was done without a plan, initially, and started with random brush marks. I knew that after my previous illustration I wanted something softer, at least to degrees. I can think of a thousand things that it means to me but had a strong urge to not share them too blatantly. The last decade of my life has had me railing strongly against what I feel has become a status quo that challenges me with every bit of the abrasion that my adolescence was dominated by. My overarching feeling was that of wanting more doubt, fewer easy answers. The square route of 5 is more irrational than PI, and has fewer discernable patterns, it is also the underlying measure for the golden ratio. It is considered inauspicious, yet its relationship to both infinity and infinite diversity liken it to life.
