Judas, 80 by 60 cm approx acrylic on canvas. I'm not wild on patriotism. I consider ethnic and national pride a lie, and a racist one. Generally in the UK patriotism is moot, certainly in England what is patriotism to half the populace is an insult to the other. In Scotland patriotism is frequently considered rebelion and even socialism, I doubt that. The belief that one people are better than the other, have done no wrong, and are morally superior is a medieval idea. Scottish history with and without the English was rarely socialist, if ever. Here a Northumbrian farmer awaits his final meeting with proud patriotic brave warriors. When any nation gets too proud of itself I get worried. "Judas" translates literally to "Jew".
