The mermaid was once a rescuer, but is now a captor. She is not a fishtailed otherworldly princess, more likely a victim of the depths herself at one point. Her captive will struggle, but adjust eventually. Acrylic on A3 paper, it was inspired by a story that never got written down. It happened in 2017, just at the time when I really stopped telling my children stories.
