soft is painted on 80*40cm canvas with acrylic I wanted to try something up really close and intimate but not rude. I guess I also wanted it to be a bit odd. He's obviously the centre of focus, and has large fingernails because I get comments on mine. I started this painting with a big fairly crude brush, and then somehow settled in with it and never progressed to a finer brush. Often I paint something and what it means kind of shifts. Something tells me Freud would have a field day with this plus the intense intimacy of the image somehow makes it way more confrontational than the plan was.
