subagua

Subagua is 40*40 cm arcylic on canvas. My spanish is non-existant, but Subagua is not a mistake. Submarina, or submarino force you to give a gender. I'm pretty sure she's a girl, but didn't want to cause offence. Another figure under the water, I do not think that they want out, even the fish seem too much company. I was thinking about the American painter Will Barnett, who really painted in line and shape but somehow my result quite is graphicy. Like Will Barnett, I love shapes but unlike him, I'm not a fan of the grid.
