tanit

Tanit is a3 on paper. A commission piece. I was to depict a Phoenician goddess named Tanit. This is probably going to end up as a sculpture and tries to both be a useful diagram and a pretty artwork. I have pretty much solidly done commissions this year (2023), a thing that feels very lucky, and this particular commission certainly reads in my head as a gift from the gods. Asking me to learn about an ancient goddess and draw her seems almost weirdly right, and I was even able to use this as an excuse to practice with a picture of Hathor, a quite similar goddess from Egypt. Embarrassingly, having figured out how to write her name, I then did it western 'left-to-right'. I should have known better.
