the rails is 80*40cm acrylic on canvas and was painted in 2020.
I get to see pigeons loving fairly regularly fairly close up and that, I guess, is my qualification for doing this picture.
The impersonal nature of trains, and their status as symbols of humanity, inevitability, and travel.
That pigeons freqewntly live out their lives in such bizarre environments connects strongly with one of my big obsessions. That of nature struggling against or coexisting with the nature of man.
